This week’s sermon answers the question, “Who is Jesus to me?” We all need to grow in our revelation of Jesus because no matter how long we live we will never know all there is to know about Him. This revelation is so important because it will dictate the life we live.

By living a lifestyle of discipleship we discover the faith that moves mountains and weathers the storms of life in perfect peace. In this sermon Ryan highlights the Apostle Peter in Acts 12:5-6 and surveys the book of Mark to uncover the process of development that a disciple goes through in relationship to Jesus.

Read MoreWe are surrounded by darkness in the world we live in and as a result, we experience suffering. In John 9 we see this in the account of a man born blind who was healed by Jesus. We see as Jesus explains to His disciples, that this man’s suffering had a purpose to ultimately glorify God. We also carry this purpose. Jesus is the light in this dark world and He is in us. We must believe in Him, go out sharing His light, and resist and persist through the darkness.

For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.” (John 6:27) These were Jesus’ words of encouragement to the crowds that had been following him for the signs He was performing. Jesus told them He was the Bread of Life and that in Him was eternal life. He told them that the work of God was to believe in Him. We can apply this to our own lives by believing in Jesus and laboring first and foremost for food that feeds our soul. We can do this by reading the Bible, contending against the enemy through prayer, and fighting sin daily. This is the only thing that will last forever.
Read MoreIn this passage we heard about the Pharisees who had a love for the scriptures, but missed their whole point; that they were pointing to Jesus. Rather than realizing that Jesus was their salvation they were trusting in their own knowledge of scripture to save them and grant them eternal life. We must read the Word of God with a love for God rather than a love for knowledge and our own efforts to be saved. This will strengthen our faith in Jesus the only one who saves and gives us eternal life!
