This week’s message explored the questions, “What is faith?” “What should we have faith in?” and “How should we have faith?” We were encouraged to act in faith by putting our trust in the person of Jesus. We were also challenged as believers to be intentional in praying for and seeking out opportunities to share our faith with others in our lives.

For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.” (John 6:27) These were Jesus’ words of encouragement to the crowds that had been following him for the signs He was performing. Jesus told them He was the Bread of Life and that in Him was eternal life. He told them that the work of God was to believe in Him. We can apply this to our own lives by believing in Jesus and laboring first and foremost for food that feeds our soul. We can do this by reading the Bible, contending against the enemy through prayer, and fighting sin daily. This is the only thing that will last forever.

Jesus is the center and focus of our worship and we worship Him simply because of who He is. When we center our lives around Jesus, we receive Heaven’s perspective and can be encouraged, strengthened, and refreshed from being in the presence of God.
